Embryo Transfer - 25 years of experience
Embryo transfer involves specific hormonal treatment of cows and heifers to cause multiple follicles to ovulate. Approximately seven days after estrus and insemination, embryos are non-surgically flushed from the donor’s uterus and transferred fresh into recipients serving as surrogates, or the embryos can be frozen, thawed and transferred at a later point in time.

Embryo transfer can be an economical option to increase a cow’s reproductive efficiency, allowing many more calves to be produced in her lifetime than normally possible.

In 1980, Trans Ova Genetics began business as a premier “on farm” embryo transfer service organization, specializing in a team approach. Both an embryologist and a technical veterinarian visit ranchers who seek embryo transfer success on elite donor animals. This team approach has allowed for greater efficiency and increased odds of good transfer results.

Trans Ova Genetics also specializes in in-clinic services to help get more embryos and more offspring from elite donors, increasing breeders’ selection and marketing opportunities. Trans Ova Genetics has facilities at numerous locations throughout the U.S. for the comfortable, safe and productive housing of elite beef cows and heifers.
