Embryo Transfer - 25 years of experience plus special care

Embryo transfer involves specific hormonal treatment of cows and heifers to cause multiple follicles to ovulate. Approximately seven days after estrus and insemination, embryos are non-surgically flushed from the donor’s uterus and transferred fresh into recipients serving as surrogates, or the embryos can be frozen, thawed and transferred at a later point in time.

Embryo transfer can be an economical option to increase elite offspring from superior brood cows and matings of them to top bulls, making it possible to get more calves from more mating combinations than previously possible.

In 2006, Trans Ova Genetics made a dedicated commitment to extend their 25 years of embryo transfer experience and advanced reproductive technology by improving facilities that now set new standards for safe, stress-free and efficient donor housing and handling.  Combined with a unique team approach to working with and harvesting embryos from donors, Trans Ova Genetics has helped bucking bull, longhorn and other entertainment-focused breeders multiply the success of their best genetics.

With strategic industry alliances in place, live-cover is not only an option at several Trans Ova Genetics stations, but some of the best breeding bulls can be used to create elite embryos for transfer.
