Trans Ova Genetics, L.C. is an Iowa limited liability company formed on November 14, 2000.  The company’s majority shareholder is Pro Edge, L.P., whose roots can be traced back to 1974 to the foundation veterinary practice begun in Ireton, Iowa by Dr. Jan Schuiteman. 

Pro Edge consists of two primary operating divisions:  Trans Ova Genetics and Pro Pork Associates, a swine management and production company. 

Though the Pro Edge, L.P. businesses do not include public veterinary practice today, all of the company’s activities tie directly back to their roots in animal agriculture.  Five of the original veterinarians are still with Pro Edge, comprising the backbone of the ownership, management team and company culture.

Built on the reputation, commitment and expertise of its founders, Trans Ova Genetics continues to focus on core competencies of outstanding animal husbandry, technological advancements and a commitment to improved agricultural applications of these principals.
